  1. Pine is an evergreen resinous tree of the 
  2. genus Pinus with some 70-100 species, 
  3. belonging to the Pinaceae, the largest 
  4. family of conifers. The oldest living 
  5. species is probably the bristlecone pine 
  6. Pinus aristata, native to California, of 
  7. which some specimens are said to be 4,600 
  8. years old.
